The Halfway to Halifax Pride Comedy Night is here to celebrate the midway point to our 2019 festival! 

This evening of laughter is sure to beat the winter blahs, with a fantastic line-up of queer comedic talent, including our fabulous headliner, the hilarious, operatic, social media sweetheart, MATTEO LANE! Hosted by the delightful drag duo of EUREKA LOVE and FARRAH MOAN, our incredible lineup of comedians also includes CHANTY MAROSTICA, winner of the 2018 SirusXM Top Comic competition, and the improv comedy bestie duo COKO AND DAPHNEY!!

Matteo Lane is a New York-based comedian whose stand-up special can be seen on Netflix’s THE COMEDY LINEUP.  He’s also currently developing a half hour pilot at Comedy Central, and the host of the Snapchat series WE GOT ISSUES.  He has performed stand up on THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT, LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS, Comedy Central’s ADAM DEVINE’S HOUSE PARTY and THE COMEDY JAM, as well as HBO’s CRASHING. Fluent in five languages and with a singing range of six octaves, Matteo lived in Italy as an oil painter and opera singer before starting his comedy career.

Chanty Marostica, known for their unique brand of high energy physical comedy, brings their jokes to life through a combination of storytelling, impressions, and spot on timing. Chanty has been featured in Just For Laughs, JFL42, ODDBLOCK, Kevin Hart's “Laugh Out Loud" Network, The Halifax Comedy Festival, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, CBC’s “Laugh Out Loud”, “Debaters” and “Workin’ Moms”. They are proudly the creator and producer of Canada’s Touring LGBTQ Comedy Showcase(s) “Queer and Present Danger”, the first EVER lgbtq weekly mic “QAPD Collective” and Toronto’s longest running lgbtq+ Showcase “Church Street Comedy”. Chanty is an Award Winning Comic, and was nominated for “Best Stand Up Comic” at The 2015 Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Won “Patrons Pick” in both 2015/2016, they also received The Canadian Comedy Award for “Best Breakout Artist” 2018 and they were recently named Sirius XM’s “Top Comic 2018”. They've opened for some amazingly talented Comedians including Ron Lynch, Kate Berlant, Judy Gold, Wendy Leibman, Tom Green, and Russell Peters.

Coko & Daphney is an improv comedy duo based in Toronto, Canada. Together, they have performed all over North America including New York, Boston, Just For Laugh’s alternative festival OFF-JFL/ZOOFEST in Montreal and most recently opened for Gina Yashere and Cathy Jones at the Harbourfront’s Brave Festival. Eureka Love - With her steppy song choices and killer curves Eureka Love is known for hitting the stage with some rip-snortin' good numbers.  A background in Animation and Graphic design have helped hone her look and her lip-sync. She's a fan of everything from 50's doo-wop to rock and roll music  and in general loves anything odd or bizarre. She has been the recipient of many awards including, Entertainer of the Year, Best Host, Best Drag Queen, Comedy Number,  Lip-Sync, Makeup, Costuming and Impersonation. You never quite know what's she's going to pull out of her Drag Bag but you can be sure it'll be a fun time finding out.

Farrah Moan - The Blonde Bombshell of the Halifax drag scene Farrah Moan’s talent and killer looks have audiences eating out of the palm of her hands. Farrah’s love of pop culture has helped her create a style and persona that combines timeless glamour with an ever evolving modern edge. With a focus on dance and pop numbers her performances are always high energy spectacles that will fill any size stage.
