Sexual Rights and Racial Wrongs - In his first book, Intolerable, Al-Solaylee wrote about his experience growing up gay in a Middle East that was becoming more fundamental and less secular. In his second, Brown, he explored brown skin as code for cheap labour and collective anxieties about immigration and Islam. For this talk, he’ll connect the two books in a discussion that takes on sexuality, racial politics, and the global economy.
