Halifax pride society

223M-2021 Brunswick St, Halifax, Nova Scotia B3K 2Y5

We acknowledge that the Halifax Pride Festival takes place in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship with the Mi’kmaq People. Part of acknowledging traditional territory, and its experience of colonialism, calls on us to consider our relationship with the land. Our presence in Kjipuktuk means we are implicated to reconcile for past and present wrongs, and to commit ourselves to the ongoing work of reconciliation. We are all Treaty people.
