non-2SLGBTQ+ groups

The 2019 Halifax Pride Parade has reached capacity and we are no longer accepting applications from non-2SLGBTQ+ groups. If you are a 2SLGBTQ+ not-for-profit/community group and wish to register, please see the directions at the bottom of this page. Parade capacity is determined by space available on the marshaling area and the time required to move all entries along the parade route.

Non-2SLGBTQ+ groups can still take part in the many other wonderful events of the 2019 Halifax Pride Festival as attendees or volunteers. The full event listings can be found HERE and volunteer registration is HERE.

Be sure to check back early next year for the application to participate in the 2020 Halifax Pride Parade.

***Applications still open for 2SLGBTQ+ not-for-profit/community groups***

Halifax Pride welcomes parade applications from 2SLGBTQ+ community/not-for-profit groups that have support and engagement of queer persons included in their mandate.

The parade application form for 2SLGBTQ+ groups can be found HERE and there is no fee. Please note that all applications by non-2SLGBTQ+ groups will not be considered. 2SLGBTQ+ community members and groups are prioritized in our parade and festival.

The Halifax Pride Parade will take place Saturday, July 20, 2019 starting at 1:00 pm through downtown Halifax.

Halifax Pride works hard to ensure community members and groups are the focus of our parade and festival. 2SLGBTQ+ Community/ Not-for-Profit Groups listing queer support and engagement in their Mission, Visions, and Values are exempt from application fees and given priority placement at the front of the parade.

Please note that two parade information sessions will take place on Tuesday, June 25th at the Halifax Central Library at 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Parade applicants are asked to attend one of those sessions and full session details will be emailed to applicants in the weeks prior to the event.
