Volunteer leads

Volunteer Leads are an important part of our festival team. We are looking for enthusiastic leaders who want to take on a bigger role during the festival.

Volunteer Leads help manage volunteer teams during events and act as a liaison between volunteers and staff.

They receive a higher level of logistics and safety training than event volunteers, and work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and Operations Team.

Volunteer Lead responsibilities include:

  • Knowledge of event logistics and safety.

  • Management and communication of volunteer tasks on-site.

  • Acting as part of the Halifax Pride Safety Team in reporting incidents.

  • Quick decision making on volunteer matters in the absence of Pride Staff.

  • Communications with volunteer teams prior to the festival.

Volunteer Lead roles include:

  • Accessibility Lead

  • Community Care Lead

  • Parade Safety Lead

  • Merchandise Booth Lead

  • Volunteer Headquarters Lead

  • Hospitality Lead
